OPRA Youth exists because the opportunities that change a student's life are hidden in plain sight — scattered where only the already-connected can find them.
The problem
Opportunity gatekeeping is real, and it's quiet. The student who wins the international essay prize usually isn't the only one who could have — they're often just the one who heard about it in time. Life-changing programs are announced on foundation websites nobody visits, in school newsletters from schools most students don't attend, and in private networks most families were never invited into.
The result is a system where discovery — not ability — decides who gets ahead. A student at a well-resourced private school in Nicosia hears about fifty opportunities a year. An equally talented student in a village lyceum hears about three.
OPRA Youth closes that gap structurally. We combine AI-scale discovery with human verification to build one open, structured, trustworthy platform — the same view of what's possible for every student in Cyprus, from every school, in every district.
I started OPRA after watching the same thing happen too many times: the deadline passes, and only then does a brilliant student find out the opportunity ever existed.
